Do you have enough to Retire?
Free Retirement Plan Health CheckMichael has worked in the finance sector for over 26 years and as a Financial Planner for nearly 20 years the bulk of which was with State Plus (formally State Super Financial Services) as a Senior Planner in the Tamworth office where he managed a client base totaling close to $200 million dollars in retirement funds.
This is where he gained valuable experience in retirement planning both pre and post retirement as well as accumulating vast knowledge in the NSW Government defined benefit (SSS, SASS and Police Scheme) and accumulation schemes (First State Super) as well as Federal Government funds such as PSS and CSS. He has managed funds across both superannuation, pension phase and managed investments. He is proficient in taxation, Centrelink and aged care implications of retirement planning.
Michael is a committed financial planning professional and through servicing regional northern NSW he has developed an awareness of the unique needs of this community and what they are looking for in a financial planner. He specialises in pre and post retirement planning, providing thorough technical expertise in an easy to understand framework, to help clients navigate their way through the maze of options available. Michael is available for both one off consultations or on an ongoing basis depending on your needs.
Michael has a Bachelor of Business and Diploma of Financial Planning and been a Certified Financial Planner for 14 years.
Michael was born and raised in Barraba and has lived in Tamworth since 1997. He is married to Kate and has two teenage children. He enjoys outdoor activities, particularly watching and encouraging his children in sport, but also keeping himself fit via cycling and attending the gym. He loves to travel within Australia, taking a particularly liking to remote outback regions of South Australia, Northern Territory and Western Queensland. He also enjoys making the most of local attractions in the North West/New England of NSW, namely the National Parks where he enjoys bush walking, mountain biking, fishing and canoeing. Michael is also actively involved in the local Tamworth community through his membership with the Rotary Club of Tamworth Sunrise where he is a past president and treasurer as well as part of the committee which runs the annual Pedal the Peel cycling event that has successfully raised approx. $30,000 for local charities.
I enjoy building long term relationships with clients which starts with creating a plan and then reviewing that regularly to ensure they remain on track to achieve their goals but also make adjustments as required to the changing needs in their lives. Retirement planning is complex around the legislation in relation to superannuation, pension funds, Centrelink, taxation and aged care. I aim to make this as simple as possible so people can understand what it means for them.
